Russia’s Ulyanov: US Envoy Misunderstands Iran’s Nuclear Rights

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Russia’s Permanent Representative to International Organizations in Vienna has responded to recent accusations made by the US Ambassador to the United Nations against Iran, citing published data from the Mehr News Agency.
Mikhail Ulyanov, in reaction to statements by Mike Waltz on social media platform X, wrote: ‘Apparently, the US Ambassador does not know that Iran is not obligated to abandon its nuclear program. This is Iran’s absolute right.’
Ulyanov further emphasized: ‘Unfortunately, the position of the Republican administration in the United States is based on incorrect interpretations of nuclear non-proliferation norms and the activities of the International Atomic Energy Agency.’
The US Ambassador to the United Nations had previously accused Iran of violating its nuclear commitments and refusing to abandon its nuclear program.
Ulyanov had previously commented on anti-Iranian remarks by NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte on social media platform X, writing: ‘This gentleman claims to be the highest administrative official in NATO. Based on his statements, he has no information about Iran’s nuclear program.’
The American official stated: ‘The level of professionalism, or lack thereof, in the West is truly a disaster.’
