Yemeni Forces Seize Key Areas in Taiz, Cut Off Vital Supply Route to Aden
According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Yemeni armed forces loyal to the Sana’a government have successfully liberated three strategic areas in Taiz province, namely Al-Turbah, Al-Shamayateen, and Sam’a. A military source confirmed to the Saba News Agency that enemy Saudi elements were expelled from these locations. Al-Turbah has a population exceeding 10,000, Al-Shamayateen over 26,000, and Sam’a more than 41,000 residents.
Simultaneously, news sources reported the advance of Yemeni forces into Al-Turbah city. Simultaneously, Sana’a forces have established control over several points along the Al-Turbah axis, including the Taiz-Aden road. They have secured control of multiple areas, including Al-Safiya market, Al-Simsara, Jabal Samdan, and Al-Zakrah, thereby completing the liberation of all vital routes leading to Taiz. This paves the way for controlling the city’s entrances and exits without entering the city center, managing it in cooperation with civilian police already present.
The forces also took control of Al-Zariqah and the Jabal Munif heights without engagement, while battles continue in the Al-Burkani region. Advances are also ongoing towards Al-Mansoura and Najd Al-Nashmah in southern Taiz. Heavy clashes and rapid advances by Sana’a forces are reported in Al-Nashmah city, in the Al-Ma’afer district of Taiz province.
Yemeni forces have begun deploying in Al-Turbah and have taken over government centers. In a significant development, Yemeni armed forces entered the residence of Sultan Al-Barakani, the speaker of the Saudi-backed government’s parliament in Yemen, located in southern Taiz province. Verified images and reports confirm the presence of Yemeni armed forces within the compound during the clearing of Saudi mercenary positions.
Meanwhile, Saudi fighter jets reportedly bombed mercenary positions in Taiz after the mercenaries fled from Yemeni armed forces. Strategic advances by Ansar Allah forces in Taiz province have led to control over Al-Safiya, cutting off the last remaining road to Aden. Yemeni sources stated that the Ansar Allah forces, in their continued advance in Taiz province, have successfully severed the main road connecting Aden and Taiz. The control of Al-Safiya by Ansar Allah has intensified the siege on Taiz city, separating its central areas from territories controlled by the Saudi-affiliated government in southern Yemen.
Yemeni sources informed Agence France-Presse that control of Al-Safiya, a strategic junction on the main route, has cut off the last remaining land route for transferring supplies between Taiz and the Lahj and Aden provinces. This occurs amidst escalating clashes and airstrikes targeting Taiz province. The Taiz-Al-Turbah-Tor Al-Baha-Aden axis is considered the vital artery of Taiz city, and control of the surrounding heights grants significant geographical and military superiority to either side. This conflict is described by the involved parties as a decisive battle for control over supply and communication lines in Taiz province.
Separately, Yahya Saree, spokesperson for the Yemeni armed forces, announced successful operations in eastern Al-Jawf. He stated that Yemeni forces, by divine grace, have targeted and expelled Saudi enemy mercenaries from eastern Al-Jawf. Yemeni forces repelled mercenary attempts to advance towards their positions, resulting in the destruction of numerous mercenary vehicles, casualties among enemy personnel, and the pursuit of fleeing mercenaries into the Al-Jawf desert. Enemy gatherings were also targeted with ballistic missiles and drones.
Saree lauded the people of Al-Jawf and Marib for standing with their people and country, supporting the armed forces in effectively confronting the enemy. He affirmed that their actions thwarted mercenary movements, crushed their advances, and thwarted their plans and objectives, burying their ambitions in the deserts and valleys, underscoring the emergence of a free and proud Yemen.
