U.S. Energy Secretary Claims Increased Oil Supply Through Strait of Hormuz Amid Election Concerns

U.S. Energy Secretary Chris Wright has claimed an increase in oil supply through the Strait of Hormuz in recent weeks, as his party faces anticipated losses in upcoming midterm elections.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, U.S. Energy Secretary Chris Wright, anticipating defeats for his Republican colleagues in the upcoming midterm elections, has attempted to justify some of the administration’s failures, despite tens of billions of dollars spent on actions against Tehran. He asserted that the trend of increasing [energy] supply through the Strait of Hormuz has continued in recent weeks.

Wright, in an effort to explain some of the economic challenges facing the United States due to the repercussions of former President Trump’s costly actions against Iran, made a statement claiming that President Trump continues to exert simultaneous diplomatic and military pressure on Iran.

Seeking to deflect from his administration’s shortcomings, he told CBS News, “China’s decision to halt gasoline and diesel exports has impacted markets. Europe has substantial diesel reserves; some of it can be released to reduce global prices.”

This comes at a time when all major global media outlets, along with numerous officials from various countries, have strongly criticized the surge in fuel prices in Western nations, attributing it to the consequences of Trump’s expensive actions against Iran.
