Putin and Trump Discuss Global Fuel Supply, Kremlin Reports

Russian President Vladimir Putin and former U.S. President Donald Trump have discussed the role of Russian energy supplies in stabilizing the global economy, according to a statement from the Kremlin. The leaders also conferred on the situation in the Iran region and bilateral cooperation.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, the Kremlin announced that Russian President Vladimir Putin emphasized the positive impact of Russia’s energy supply on the global economy during a conversation with Donald Trump. Both sides also consulted on energy matters, the situation in the Iran region, and strengthening bilateral cooperation.

Earlier, Trump had claimed that he had reached an agreement with Putin on the immediate supply of hundreds of thousands of tons of diesel fuel and millions of tons of other fuels in the coming months. He stated that the objective of this action was to reduce fuel prices for American farmers and drivers.

Concurrently, the U.S. Department of the Treasury issued a temporary general license, authorizing transactions related to the sale and import of Russian diesel fuel until April 2027. This decision paves the way for Russian fuel to return to international markets, following months of limitations caused by attacks on Russian refineries and Kremlin export bans.

These developments occur as Trump focuses on managing the energy crisis and potential nuclear threats concerning Iran, aiming to solidify his support ahead of the congressional midterm elections.
