Former US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo Advocates for Internal Collapse of Iranian Regime

Former U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo told Fox News that the collapse of the Iranian regime would result in lower energy prices and improved security, a positive development for the United States.

Pompeo elaborated on the potential mechanisms for regime change, stating, “This must happen from within.” He suggested that both covert operations and support for Iranian resistance movements, including certain groups, are suitable tools for achieving this objective.

This is not the first instance of U.S. officials advocating for support of separatist and terrorist groups to destabilize Iran. Previously, U.S. President Donald Trump had declared that he had provided weapons to Kurdish separatist groups for use in creating insecurity within Iran.

However, widespread public support for the Islamic Republic during the Iran-Iraq War and recent conflicts instigated by the United States and the Israeli regime against Iran have thwarted such plots. These events have intensified public animosity towards armed groups, isolating them further.
