Macron’s Popularity Plummets to Record Low of 15% in France

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, a recent survey conducted by the Ipsos institute in collaboration with the CentraleSupélec engineering school has revealed a significant decline in the popularity of French President Emmanuel Macron, with his approval rating hitting a new low of 15%.
The data published on Ipsos’s website indicates that only 15% of French participants in the poll approve of Macron’s performance as president, while a substantial 82% expressed dissatisfaction with his decisions. This figure marks a record low, surpassing the previous dip to 16% recorded in a September 2026 poll by the same institute.
The widespread public discontent in France is not limited to the president. Prime Minister Sébastien Lecornu’s approval rating stands at a mere 22%, with 69% of survey respondents holding a negative view of his performance.
Opposition Leads in 2027 Presidential Election Polls
Regarding potential candidates for the 2027 presidential election, the survey shows Jordan Bardella, leader of the National Rally party, maintaining the lead with 33% support. He is followed by Marine Le Pen, leader of the party’s group in the National Assembly, in second place with 32%, and former Prime Minister Édouard Philippe in third with 20% of the vote.
These findings align with a previous poll by the Odoxa-Mascareignes institute, published by BFM TV. That survey also indicated that Macron’s popularity had reached an all-time low, losing 7 percentage points since the end of June 2026, with only 18% of participants rating him as a successful president.
