Trump Claims US Isolation Amidst European Criticism and NATO Doubts

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, …
President Donald Trump has voiced strong criticism of European countries, asserting that Washington has not received adequate support from its allies despite substantial investments in protecting NATO members. Trump claimed that the United States was met with a lack of solidarity when it sought assistance.
Addressing the United States’ involvement regarding Iran, Trump, acknowledging a degree of American isolation, stated, “We asked for help in connection with Iran; help that we didn’t need, but I was testing NATO.”
The U.S. President accused Europe of losing its way, adding, “If Europe does not find its way soon, we will have no choice but to leave it.”
In a separate segment of his remarks, Trump criticized the immigration policies of European nations, alleging, “Europe is allowing immigrants who hate it to enter.”
The President further highlighted Washington’s financial commitments to the security of NATO member states, noting, “We spent hundreds of billions of dollars protecting NATO member countries, but when we asked for help, they did not help us.”
Trump’s statements come at a time when the non-participation of American European allies in actions concerning Iran has been a focal point of disagreement between Washington and several European countries.
