Russia Claims Mexican Cartel Members Trained in Ukraine on Combat Drones

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, …
Russia’s Foreign Intelligence Service (SVR) announced on Tuesday that members of Mexican drug cartels have traveled to Ukraine to undergo training in the assembly and operation of combat drones. The intelligence agency stated that at least 80 individuals within Ukraine’s armed forces have received this training. The costs associated with these training programs were reportedly funded through revenues generated from drug sales in the United States and subsequently transferred to officials closely aligned with President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
The SVR issued a warning that the transfer of these drone-related skills to cartel members could pose a threat to American forces actively engaged in combating drug trafficking along the U.S.-Mexico border. This development comes amid separate reports suggesting a growing concern over the sophistication of cartel operations.
In a related development, The Washington Post, in a September report, cited an assessment indicating that Mexican cartels are actively recruiting individuals with battlefield experience from the conflict in Ukraine to enhance their drone capabilities. This trend highlights a potential nexus between international conflicts and organized crime.
