The new EU Internet law is fully implemented from today

According to the EU's Digital Services Act (DSA), platforms must ensure "a high level of privacy, safety and security" for children.

The European Union’s Digital Services Act (DSA), which provides strict frameworks for content management and online advertising, covers significant parts of the Internet in addition to large platforms, and only small platforms with less than 50 employees. and annual turnover below 10 million euros are exempted from its implementation.

According to this law, platforms must guarantee a “high level of privacy, safety and security” for children, and these platforms are not allowed to target underage users with advertisements based on their personal data.

Also, all targeted advertising based on sensitive personal information will be illegal. Social media should not allow hate speech to remain.

Websites must provide a reasonable reason for modifying users’ posts or profiles. A method should be provided so that users can report illegal goods and services on any platform.

Companies that do not comply with the law will be fined up to 6% of their annual turnover, and if the violation continues, the wrong platform will be filtered in Europe.
