Ireland called for a boycott of Zionist settlers
The Foreign Minister of Ireland confirmed that this country cannot add to the suffering of the people of Gaza and hopes that the European Union will sanction the Zionist settlers. |
Irish Foreign Minister Michael Martin said on Monday that he hoped the European Union would reach a consensus on sanctions against violent settlers in the West Bank, as the world grappled with the level of inhumane practices. He is shocked in Gaza.
According to the report of The Times of Israel, he said before the European Union Foreign Ministers meeting: Ireland is in favor of sanctioning violent settlers in the West Bank, we regret that unity and consensus have not yet occurred in the Council of Foreign Affairs until today. The civilian people of Gaza are currently living on hell on earth.
Martin told reporters in Brussels: Palestinian families in Rafah are suffering a lot. More than one and a half million people are crowded into a very small corner of Gaza. They are tired, they are tired of moving from the north to the center and south of Gaza. They have nowhere else to go.
Ireland’s foreign minister added: There are thousands of children in Gaza who have been without school for months. The trauma they have gone through is unprecedented. How could anyone think of harming it? This is beyond what I can do, it is an inhuman act.
However, Martin concluded that Hamas should lay down its weapons. What Hamas is doing is completely unacceptable and Ireland has condemned the activities of Hamas from the beginning.
