Group of Seven meeting to review the situation in the Red Sea

Japan announced that the transport ministers of the Group of Seven will hold an online meeting on Tuesday to discuss the situation in the Red Sea.

The Ministry of Transport of Japan announced that the transport ministers of the Group of Seven countries will hold an online conference today, Tuesday, to examine the Red Sea crisis and its impact on maritime traffic.

According to the Reuters report, the ministry added that the European Union, the International Maritime Organization and the International Transport Forum will join to exchange information and discuss a possible joint statement.

In this regard, the foreign ministers of the European Union will officially announce the beginning of the mission of the EU forces in the Red Sea at a meeting in Brussels on Monday. According to EU officials, Greece will be in overall command of the mission, and an Italian official will be in control of naval operations. So far, France, Germany, Italy and Belgium have said that they intend to send their ships to this sea. The duration of this mission is one year.

On the other hand, Yemen has not backed down from its positions and Mohammad Ali Al-Houthi, a senior member of the Supreme Political Council of this country, emphasized that the US and British attacks against Sana’a, Hodeidah and other provinces of Yemen are not effective. Yahya Saree, the spokesman of the Yemeni armed forces, also announced last Monday that the country’s army conducted a new operation against an American ship in the Red Sea.

The forces of the Yemeni army have pledged to continue attacking the ships of this regime or ships bound for the occupied territories in the Red Sea until the Zionist regime does not stop its attacks on Gaza.
