Declaration of Cuba’s solidarity with the President of Brazil against Israel

Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel expressed his solidarity with Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva, who was declared a persona non grata in Israel due to his condemnation of Israel’s military operations in Gaza.

Díaz-Canel praised Lula’s courage and said he “encourages and admires” her courage. The Cuban president said: You will always be on the right side of history.

On February 18, Lula drew a parallel between Israel’s bombing of Gaza and the crimes of Nazi Germany. “What is happening in the Gaza Strip is not a war, it is a genocide,” Lula told reporters in Addis Ababa, where he attended the African Union summit.
