The wave of public protests in America against the official complicity of America in Israel’s war and genocide against Gaza continues.
According to the Common Dreams website, New York City police on Monday arrested at least 50 demonstrators who were trying to disrupt the recording of US President Joe Biden’s television show. The protest was carried out by members of the organization “Jewish Voice for Peace” wearing t-shirts that read “Not in our name” at the NBC headquarters in New York City.
Protesters in downtown Manhattan, where Biden was taping an interview with the host of “The Late Night Show with Seth Meyers,” chanted slogans against the Israeli regime’s bloody war against Gaza.
Demonstrators chanted: “Biden, Biden, you can’t hide, you’re funding genocide.” The banners called on the US president to stop the genocide and push for a permanent ceasefire in Gaza, where more than 100,000 Palestinians have been killed or wounded and about 90 percent of the population has been forcibly displaced since the October 7 attacks.
Jewish Voice for Peace in New York said that Biden’s murderous foreign policy has helped accelerate arms sales to the Israeli regime for crimes against Gaza. This organization also criticized the US government for ignoring the verdict of the International Court of Justice (The Hague) issued against the Zionist regime last month.
This organization announced that the President of the United States should start answering to the American people, not to the far-right cabinet of the Zionist regime, which bombards Gaza needlessly and destroys 70% of the infrastructure, including hospitals, universities, and electricity and water networks.
