Saudi Arabia and Qatar welcomed the UN resolution on Islamophobia

Saudi Arabia and Qatar separately issued a statement welcoming and supporting the adoption of the resolution against Islamophobia in the United Nations.

Arabia and Qatar welcomed the adoption of the UN General Assembly resolution on “Measures to combat Islamophobia” and the appointment of the UN Special Representative to combat Islamophobia.

According to Al-Khalij Online report, the Saudi Foreign Ministry in a statement renewed Riyadh’s support for all international efforts aimed at fighting extremist ideas and cutting off their financial resources.

The statement continues: Saudi Arabia encourages and accepts the values ​​of peace and dialogue between the followers of religions and civilizations and supports the creation of a culture of mutual respect among the followers of religions and religions and the promotion of a culture of coexistence.

Qatar also called for a comprehensive approach to address the root causes of Islamophobia and emphasized that disrespecting religions and inciting religious hatred under the pretext of democratic rights and freedom of expression will only lead to social disharmony and more human rights violations.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Qatar added in a statement: This requires more attention and necessitates the need for better work at all levels to fight Islamophobia and eliminate intolerance in all its forms.

The United Nations General Assembly on Friday approved a draft resolution on measures to be taken to combat “Islamophobia”.

This draft resolution, which was voted on at the same time as the International Day of Combating Islamophobia, was approved with the support of 115 countries, 44 countries abstained and no country opposed.

The aforementioned resolution condemns any hateful and violent statements against Muslims and calls for strengthening international efforts to promote tolerance, tolerance and peace.
