According to the statement of the British Ministry of Finance, this is the second time that the London government has used the country’s domestic anti-terrorism sanctions system to target those suspected of so-called terrorist acts.
Today’s action is part of a coordinated international effort to prevent the financing of terrorism, protect the financial system and prevent abuse of the UK economy, the statement said. The UK continues to work closely with its partners to disrupt the financial networks of Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad. This work continues alongside reaching a long-term political solution so that Israelis and Palestinians can live in peace.
