The new government of Senegal was appointed

The Prime Minister of Senegal introduced and appointed new cabinet members.

According to Webangah News quoted by Mehr News Agency, citing Reuters, the ministers of the new government were appointed in Senegal.

Senegal Prime Minister Ousmane Sonko announced on Monday that the members of the new government have been appointed.

Senegal’s prime minister announced on Friday that Senegal will have a new government with 25 prime ministers and five non-prime ministers. According to Sonko, the members of Senegal’s new cabinet have been approved by the president of this country.

44-year-old Basiro Diomai Faye, after becoming the president of Senegal, Sonko appointed one of his main supporters as the country’s prime minister.

Faye succeeded former Senegalese president Macky Sall, whose 12-year presidency saw a growing wave of public discontent.

The former president had postponed the presidential elections of this country until further notice, arguing that it is necessary to resolve disputes related to the qualifications of electoral candidates. This action led to widespread chaos and unrest in this country.

Opponents of the move warned that Senegal’s reputation as the only bastion of democracy in the volatile West African region was at risk. Khalifa Sal, the leader of the Senegalese opposition, who of course has no relationship with the president of this country and only has a family resemblance to him, has described the delay in holding the elections as a “coup by resorting to the constitution”.
