Former Pentagon adviser: NATO does not have a clear strategy for Ukraine

According to the former Pentagon adviser, NATO does not have a clear strategy for Ukraine, which is why it makes chaotic decisions.

Theodore Postol, a former adviser to the Pentagon, said in an interview with the Dialogue Works YouTube channel: “The North Atlantic Alliance does not have a clear strategy for Ukraine, so it makes chaotic decisions.”
“I don’t see any strategy from NATO,” he said. I think they are both in a hurry and desperate.”

Postol stressed that it will be very difficult to draw conclusions from the upcoming NATO meeting for several reasons. First, at this summit, members will try to find out if the President of the United States, Joe Biden, is competent given his physical condition. Second, French President Emmanuel Macron will attend the summit as a president whose powers are severely limited. Finally, Olaf Schultz, the chancellor of Germany, is not a serious politician and his votes cannot be counted on.

Earlier, Douglas Jones, the representative of the US Secretary of State for European and Eurasian affairs, reported that at the NATO summit in Washington, Ukraine was offered “certain ways” to accelerate the process of joining the North Atlantic Alliance. It is also said that ammunition standardization will be one of the most important axes of the NATO meeting.

The NATO summit will be held in Washington on July 9-11 (July 19-21). According to a senior representative of the US government, Joe Biden is going to meet with his Ukrainian counterpart, Volodymyr Zelensky, at this summit.
