The arrival of the American delegation to Cairo to continue the ceasefire negotiations in Gaza

US officials are reported to have arrived in Cairo for further talks on a ceasefire in Gaza.

William Burns, director of the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) and Brett McGurk, coordinator of the National Security Council for the West Asia and North Africa, arrived in Cairo to discuss the war between Israel and Hamas in the Gaza Strip.

The purpose of their trip is to support the prisoner exchange and ceasefire agreement in Gaza after presenting a new ceasefire proposal.

Axios reporter Barak Ravid reported, quoting Israeli and American sources, that another goal of their trip is to secure the Egyptian-Gaza border and prevent what is claimed to be arms smuggling through it.

Previously, the same media announced that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, despite the “gap” between the negotiating parties, gave the green light to send a delegation from this country for individual talks about the prisoner trade.

The first round of negotiations between the Zionist regime and the Palestinian resistance for the exchange of prisoners of both sides was recently concluded in Doha, the capital of Qatar.

The office of the Prime Minister of the Zionist regime confirmed on Friday night that the head of the Mossad spy agency, who went to Qatar to negotiate with Hamas, returned from Doha to the occupied territories after the negotiation to report to the authorities.
