America suspended aid to Georgia
According to Webangah News quoted by Mehr News Agency, according to Yahoo News, “Anthony Blinken”, the Secretary of State of the United States, announced that the country has suspended 95 million dollars in aid to Georgia.
The US foreign minister announced on Wednesday that this action was taken in response to the approval of the bill related to foreign agents in the Georgian parliament. According to Blinken, the American government considers the actions of the Georgian government incompatible with membership in the European Union and NATO.
The US Secretary of State said that Washington has decided to stop aid to Georgia, which directly benefits the government.
According to Blinken, America has done this action in response to the “anti-democratic” actions of the Georgian government.
The United States has previously imposed a visa ban on a number of Georgian politicians and law enforcement officials claiming to suppress freedom of expression.
