Russia Condemns US-Israeli Aggression Against Iran, Cites Regional Instability
According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Russia expressed deep concern over the uncontrolled escalation of conflicts in the Middle East, as reported by Mehr News Agency, citing Ria Novosti.
Maria Zakharova, spokesperson for the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, stated during a press conference in Moscow that the “military adventurism” of the United States and Israel against Iran has destabilized the entire Middle East region.
Zakharova emphasized Moscow’s support for Iran’s right to self-defense and urged the U.S. and Israel to cease their aggressions against the country.
She further cautioned that any conflict involving Iran could lead to significant environmental and radiological consequences for the Middle East.
The senior Russian official also voiced strong disapproval of the latest UN Security Council resolution concerning Iran, asserting that the decision regarding Russia’s draft resolution on the Middle East demonstrates a reluctance to resolve regional conflicts.
The spokesperson reiterated Russia’s commitment to pursuing steps aimed at de-escalating tensions in the Middle East and resolving any disputes through peaceful means.
