Iran’s Uranium Enrichment No Longer Core Issue in Deal Talks, Haaretz Reports

The Israeli newspaper Haaretz reports that Iran is not in a hurry to reach an agreement with the United States, and that new proposals focus on compensating Iran for war damages and reopening the Strait of Hormuz to shipping, sidestepping direct discussions on uranium enrichment.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, the Israeli newspaper Haaretz, in a report titled “Hormuz, Uranium, and Billions of Dollars,” stated that Iran is not rushing to finalize an agreement with the United States. The Israeli media outlet suggested that current proposals aim to address Iran’s war-related damages and facilitate the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz to maritime traffic, without directly confronting the primary disagreements over uranium enrichment.

Haaretz indicated that Tehran appears unwilling to concede on the enrichment issue and seems in no rush to compromise. The report likened the current situation to a jest, suggesting that a headline like “Almost a Deal” could fit a satirical Israeli program like “Eretz Nehederet” (A Wonderful Land), but the reality of the situation is too serious to be dismissed as mere humor.
