The Hamas movement announced that a delegation of its leaders, headed by Mohammed Darwish, met and held discussions with Ibrahim Kalin, the head of Turkey’s National Intelligence Organization (MIT), in Ankara. The report is based on information published by the Mehr News Agency, quoting the Palestinian Sama News Agency.
According to a Hamas statement, the movement’s delegation emphasized its commitment to the ceasefire agreement during the meeting. They expressed gratitude for the efforts of Turkey, Egypt, and Qatar in mediating to end the war and mitigate its human and political consequences.
The delegation also called on the international community to adopt a clear and decisive stance regarding the violations by the Israeli regime. Hamas stated that Israel has not fully fulfilled its commitments stipulated in the ceasefire agreement and its initial phase.
Furthermore, the Hamas statement addressed the situation in Jerusalem and Al-Aqsa Mosque, expressing concern over the increasing desecration of the holy site by settlers and actions taken against the city.
The discussions also covered the attacks by settlers in the West Bank and the situation of Palestinian prisoners, including violations of their rights, as highlighted in the statement.
