U.S. President Donald Trump stated in an interview with ABC that an agreement with Iran to extend a ceasefire and reopen the Strait of Hormuz could be finalized “next week.” Trump emphasized that a peace deal with Iran might be preferable to a military victory, acknowledging the significant scale of the country and the deep-seated animosities involved.
The U.S. President described the process as challenging for both Iran and the United States. “We are getting what we need. We have to get a few more points from them,” he added.
