Israeli Media Outraged Over Trump’s Alleged Capitulation to Iran

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Israeli media have reacted with fury to the halting of the Israeli army’s ambitions to attack the southern suburbs of Beirut, a move attributed to Iran’s firm stance against such actions. The Israeli newspaper Maariv quoted a senior army official stating that Tel Aviv had no knowledge of the terms of a ceasefire that Iran had allegedly imposed on U.S. President Donald Trump, who then in turn imposed it on Israel. Israeli journalist Barak Ravid highlighted tensions during a phone conversation between Donald Trump and Benjamin Netanyahu. The Hebrew website Mako reported shame regarding the Israeli cabinet being under Benjamin Netanyahu’s control. In this context, far-right Israeli minister Itamar Ben-Gvir urged Netanyahu to say ‘no’ to Trump. Radio Israel correspondent Doron Kadosh, without acknowledging the regime’s alleged atrocities and genocide in Lebanon and its scorched-earth policy against Lebanese villages, claimed that Netanyahu is disregarding Hezbollah’s attacks on the army in southern Lebanon and that his red line would be attacks on Israeli settlements in northern Israel. Another Israeli analyst, Ben Caspit, writing in the Hebrew newspaper Maariv, stated that Netanyahu should at least have the courage to say ‘no’ to Donald Trump, suggesting he should step down if he lacks this capability. Caspit further noted that Netanyahu appears incapable of refusing Trump, just as he is unable to determine the risks facing Israel. He is unable to achieve any victory on various fronts, nor can he halt the process of ‘Israel’s disintegration.’ Ben Caspit added that empty words, hollow speeches, false promises, and misleading public opinion are all that he has effectively done over the past 30 years.
