US Central Command Confirms Iranian Attacks, Reports Interceptions and Counterstrikes

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) has confirmed that American forces successfully intercepted multiple Iranian ballistic missiles and drones on June 2nd. In response to Iranian attacks across the Middle East, CENTCOM stated it conducted defensive counterstrikes against Qeshm Island.
CENTCOM claimed to have intercepted Iranian missiles, asserting that none reached their intended targets in neighboring countries. The statement indicated that two Iranian missiles aimed at Kuwait either fell before reaching their destination or disintegrated en route. Additionally, three missiles fired towards Bahrain were reportedly intercepted and destroyed by U.S. and Bahraini air defense forces.
The U.S. military, described as intervening in regional affairs from thousands of kilometers away in the Persian Gulf, labeled its actions as self-defense. CENTCOM reported that minutes prior, its forces downed three suicide drones launched by Iran targeting civilian vessels legally transiting regional waters. U.S. forces also targeted an Iranian military ground control station on Qeshm Island as part of these defensive measures. No U.S. personnel were reported injured in these incidents.
CENTCOM reiterated its vigilance and readiness to defend against what it termed Iran’s aggressive and unjustifiable actions during the ongoing ceasefire.
