Islamic Jihad Condemns Escalating Israeli Attacks on Gaza, Denounces West Bank Settlement Expansion

The Islamic Jihad movement has issued a strong condemnation of ongoing Israeli ceasefire violations in Gaza and continued ‘genocidal’ actions in the West Bank, including the approval of new settlement units.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, The Islamic Jihad movement has issued a strongly worded statement denouncing the Israeli regime’s persistent violations of the ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip and its ongoing “crimes” in the West Bank. The movement asserted that the Israeli occupation forces continue to breach the Gaza ceasefire through continuous bombings and by targeting civilians, leading to mass casualties.

The statement emphasized that these actions represent a blatant violation of all international laws and norms. Islamic Jihad detailed that the recent attacks resulted in the martyrdom and injury of several citizens due to organized bombing operations and destruction that targeted various areas of the Gaza Strip. These actions are part of continuing “genocidal crimes” against the Palestinian people and the ongoing humanitarian siege of the Gaza Strip.

Addressing the situation in the occupied West Bank, the statement highlighted that occupation authorities are pursuing annexation policies through settlement expansion. Specifically, the so-called Higher Regional Planning Committee affiliated with the occupation has approved the construction of 2,162 new settlement units in several settlements north and south of the West Bank. This move is aimed at consolidating the annexation of the West Bank and its Judaization.

Islamic Jihad stressed that these continuous crimes obligate guarantor states, supporting entities, and international and human rights organizations to fulfill their legal, humanitarian, and ethical responsibilities. The movement called for immediate and tangible actions to halt the aggressions and crimes of the occupying regime and ensure full adherence to the terms of the ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip.

The statement concluded by urging immediate action to stop settlement policies and expansionist measures, as well as unilateral actions targeting the occupied Palestinian territories in the West Bank. It called for an end to the occupation’s continuous crimes and for the prosecution of war criminals from the Israeli regime.

In related developments, medical sources at Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital reported that four individuals injured in an Israeli drone attack on the Maghazi refugee camp have been martyred, including two brothers.
