Iran Warns Against Third-Party Interference in Strait of Hormuz

Mohsen Rezaei, a senior military advisor to Iran’s Supreme Leader, stated that the Strait of Hormuz is an issue concerning only Iran and Oman, and no third party will be permitted to interfere in its management. He emphasized that Iran opposes U.S. or European intervention in this crucial waterway.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, citing reports from the Mehr News Agency, Major General Mohsen Rezaei, a military advisor to the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, asserted in an interview with Sputnik News Agency that the Strait of Hormuz is a matter pertaining to Iran and Oman, and no third party possesses the right to intervene in the management of this strategic passage.

Rezaei stated, “The Strait of Hormuz concerns only Iran and Oman, and we will not allow the United States or European countries to take control of the management of this strategic route.”

He also noted that approximately 30 ships transit the Strait of Hormuz daily, and Iran is prepared to accommodate a greater volume of maritime traffic. The advisor to the Supreme Leader concluded by emphasizing that the U.S. obstructs the movement of certain vessels navigating designated maritime routes.
