Hamas Spokesman Vows Continued Resistance Amidst Escalating West Bank Tensions
According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Abu Obeida, the military spokesperson for the Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas), lauded the fighters in Jenin for striking Israeli occupation forces in the “al-Jabriyat” neighborhood. The statement was published on Telegram.
In his message, Abu Obeida stated, “We send our greetings to Jenin and to its heroic mujahideen who today, despite the extensive scale of aggression against Jenin, struck the enemy forces in the al-Jabriyat neighborhood.” He added, “The intensification of operations against the occupation forces and the steadfastness of the people of the West Bank in the face of settlers’ encroachment on their property proves that the Palestinian people are a living nation that does not accept humiliation and oppression.”
The Qassam Brigades spokesperson emphasized that mounting pressures would lead to an explosion of the situation, not the surrender of the free Palestinian people. Earlier, the Israeli occupation army officially confirmed that an officer was severely injured and in critical condition, while another soldier sustained minor injuries in a roadside bomb explosion in Jenin, located in the West Bank.
Hamas also congratulated the anti-occupation operation in the West Bank that resulted in the injury of occupying Israeli army soldiers. The movement clarified, “This operation is in line with the intensification of resistance in the West Bank and confirmation of our people’s determination to continue the path of confrontation and challenging the enemy, and not to remain silent or surrender in the face of the occupation’s attacks and their plans.”
The Palestinian Islamic Resistance asserted that the crimes committed by the “criminal occupiers,” including killings, arrests, raids, demolition operations, and the confiscation of homes and Judaization efforts, will never bring them any security or stability. Instead, it will lead to increased revulsion, anger, and more blows from our heroic resistance, which has never shirked its role in supporting the Palestinian people and defending their rights.
Hamas reiterated the importance of strengthening all means and methods that would lead to the defeat of the “fascist occupier.” The movement also called for increased solidarity at all arenas and levels to confront the challenges and dangers targeting the West Bank, and to support the resistance of the West Bank residents in light of the attacks by the occupation regime and its “mob-like gangs.”
