Israeli Media Warn of Renewed War Following Beirut Attack, Eye Trump’s Stance

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Israeli media are reporting on the possibility of renewed war following an Israeli attack on the Dahiyeh neighborhood of Beirut. The Hebrew newspaper Maariv suggested that Israel anticipates a new round of conflict with Iran should Tehran decide to retaliate. Some observers, according to the outlet, believe the timing of the strike was deliberate, intended to send a message that Israel will not accept any limitations on its operational freedom in Lebanon.
Channel 12 of Israeli television explored the potential position of U.S. President Donald Trump regarding the Israeli airstrike on Dahiyeh. The station raised significant questions about the White House’s reaction, pondering Trump’s stance on the Tel Aviv action. Trump has been advocating for an agreement with Tehran, and his position on this simultaneous move by Israel, which could jeopardize Washington’s diplomatic negotiations and agreements, remains a key concern.
The Israeli regime claims that the target of its strike in southern Beirut’s Dahiyeh was a Hezbollah commander responsible for the group’s communications system. The Israeli military asserts that it targeted a Hezbollah command center in southern Beirut in response to Hezbollah’s missile attacks.
Israeli media reported that Tel Aviv is preparing for a potential Iranian response, including a missile barrage, and has consequently elevated the alert level across all its military branches and formations. Following the bombing of southern Beirut’s Dahiyeh, Qatar and Pakistan have reportedly initiated intensive consultations and exerted pressure to halt a new phase of hostilities, fearing that reignited conflict could derail ongoing negotiations.
