Iran Blocks Symbolic Deal Achievement for Trump on His Birthday, New York Times Reports

The New York Times has reported that Iran deliberately delayed the finalization of an agreement, preventing it from coinciding with U.S. President Donald Trump’s birthday, a move analysts suggest aimed to deny him a symbolic political victory.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, The New York Times has reported that Iran obstructed the conferral of a symbolic achievement upon President Donald Trump, opting not to finalize an agreement on his birthday. Iranian officials indicated that they waited for midnight to pass in Tehran before concluding the deal, thereby avoiding any association with Trump’s birthday. The seven-and-a-half-hour time difference between Iran and the United States enabled Tehran to determine the timing of the agreement’s conclusion, which occurred early Monday in Iran.

Al Jazeera had previously reported that U.S. President Donald Trump was insistent on signing the agreement with Iran on Sunday, as it coincided with his 80th birthday. Analysts suggest this insistence stems from Trump’s policy of manufacturing achievements and linking them directly to his persona.

In contrast, Tehran has signaled no intention of granting such a symbolic accomplishment to President Trump.
