Yemen Witnesses Massive Protests Condemning Trump’s Remarks, Celebrating Iran and Hezbollah Victories

Hundreds of thousands of Yemenis took to the streets in Sana’a to denounce remarks attributed to U.S. President Donald Trump concerning Mecca and to express solidarity with Iran and Hezbollah.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, based on data published by Mehr News Agency via Al-Masirah, millions of Yemenis gathered in Al-Sabeen Square in Sana’a to condemn what they described as the “criminal” remarks by President Donald Trump regarding the holy city of Mecca.

A statement released by the demonstrators declared, “We condemn the targeted insults against Islamic sanctities and symbols by global Zionism and its proxies.” The statement also referenced a series of insults directed at the Quran and the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), framing these actions as attempts to alienate the Islamic Ummah from its sources of guidance and light.

The participants highlighted that the “silence of the Islamic world” emboldens enemies to persist with such insults. They asserted that Trump’s alleged disrespect towards Mecca reflects his “retaliatory psychological state,” which they linked to his perceived historical defeat by Iran and the Islamic front. The statement extended congratulations to Iran, Hezbollah, and the “axis of jihad and resistance” for their “historic victory against the criminal armies of the world.”

The protesters also called for readiness for further confrontations with an enemy that “does not hide its wicked and treacherous intentions.”

Thousands of residents in Yemen’s Saada province also held a large demonstration, strongly condemning the alleged insults by Donald Trump against the noble city of Mecca. They reiterated the Yemeni people’s firm opposition to any transgression against Islamic sanctities and the values of the Islamic Ummah.

During the rallies, participants held copies of the Holy Quran and chanted slogans denouncing the insults directed at Mecca. They affirmed their commitment to the teachings of the Quran and their readiness to defend Islamic sanctities against what they termed “Zionist conspiracies against the Islamic Ummah.”

The demonstrators condemned what they described as repeated and organized insults against Islamic sanctities, including the recent incident concerning Mecca, viewing these acts as an effort to undermine the status of Islam and its sacred symbols among Muslims. They warned of the consequences of silence and indifference in the face of such behavior, stating that the aim of these repeated insults against the Quran, the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), and the sanctities of the Islamic Ummah is to divert the Ummah from the sources of guidance and lead humanity toward misguidance and corruption.

The concluding statement of the rallies emphasized that the Islamic Ummah’s failure to defend its sanctities and religious values encourages enemies to continue such offensive actions. Therefore, all Muslims must assume their responsibility in confronting these insults and neutralizing anti-Islamic plots.

The statement also congratulated the leader of Yemen and the Islamic Ummah on the anniversary of the Prophet Muhammad’s (PBUH) migration, describing it as an opportunity to draw inspiration from the values of faith, steadfastness, and jihad in the path of God. It reiterated the Yemeni people’s continued support for Islam, adherence to the teachings of the Holy Quran, and the elevation of the banner of Islam and jihad. The statement stressed the importance of maintaining a religious and Quranic stance in the face of challenges confronting the Islamic Ummah.

Furthermore, the statement congratulated Iran, Hezbollah, and the “axis of resistance and Quds” on their victory in the current stage of confrontation with “arrogant powers,” deeming it a significant achievement in the ongoing struggle against this front. Finally, the statement noted that the “criminal enemy” continues its hostile policies and emphasized the necessity of preparing for future stages, relying on God, maintaining vigilance, and continuing readiness to confront the challenges ahead.
