Netanyahu Agrees to Lebanon Ceasefire, Axios Claims Amid Diplomatic Efforts

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has reportedly agreed to extend a ceasefire in Lebanon, according to claims by the American publication Axios, citing a White House official. This development follows reports of negotiations mediated by the United States and Qatar.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, the American publication Axios, citing a White House official, has claimed that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has agreed to extend the ceasefire in Lebanon. This aligns with earlier reports from the Hebrew newspaper ‘Israel Hayom’, which quoted an Israeli source stating, “We have returned to a ceasefire and will not initiate further attacks.”

Axios also reported, citing an American official, that Israel and Hezbollah reached an agreement on a ceasefire following negotiations involving Israel and Iran, with mediation by the United States and Qatar. The Hebrew newspaper Yedioth Ahronoth further quoted an Israeli official asserting, “We agreed to a ceasefire, and if Hezbollah does not attack, we will not attack either.”

These developments occur as the spokesperson for the Israeli army stated, “Anything related to ceasefire agreements is dependent on the political leadership.”
