Israeli Envoy Clashes With UN Officials Over War Crimes Report

Israel’s representative at the United Nations engaged in a verbal confrontation with two senior UN officials during a session addressing the global fight against wartime violence, following a report that implicated Israel in crimes against children.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, during a United Nations meeting focused on the International Day for the Elimination of Sexual Violence in Conflict, Israel’s envoy, Danon, launched a verbal attack on two UN officials. This occurred after a report was presented that accused the Israeli regime of committing crimes against children during armed conflicts.

Danon demanded the resignation of Pramila Patten, the Special Representative of the Secretary-General on Sexual Violence in Conflict, arguing that she was not impartial. Patten had previously prepared a report that, for the first time, included the Israeli regime on a blacklist for such violations.

Danon’s remarks prompted a reaction from Virginia Gamba, the Special Representative for Children and Armed Conflict. She asserted that the UN reports are prepared based on credible evidence.

Continuing his verbal assault, Danon addressed Gamba directly, stating, “Be quiet right now. Your report is shameful!”
