UK Prime Minister Starmer Unveils £300 Billion Military Budget and Plan for 12 F-35 Jets

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, British Prime Minister Keir Starmer announced on Tuesday that his government intends to increase the nation’s military budget to around £300 billion ($387 billion) over the next four years. This move is part of a comprehensive plan to modernize the UK’s armed forces and enhance military capabilities in response to escalating security challenges.
Unveiling the country’s ten-year defense strategy, Starmer stated that the United Kingdom must adapt to global shifts. “We must do everything necessary in this new world to secure our country and seize the opportunities that come from investing in our sovereign capabilities,” he remarked.
The British Prime Minister disclosed that the nation will purchase twelve F-35A fighter jets, a move intended to bolster the Royal Air Force and improve the readiness of the armed forces. Starmer also noted that the United States remains Britain’s most crucial military ally. He added that his government, drawing lessons from the Iraq War, has decided not to join military action against Iran.
