Syrian Residents Confront Israeli Occupation Forces; Militia Group Attacks Shiite Village
According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, local Syrian sources reported new actions by Israeli soldiers in southern Syria, with residents confronting them. Sources indicated that residents of the villages of Maar’a and Al-Arida in the Yarmouk Basin area, west of Daraa, have blockaded roads leading to the Al-Jazeera military base. These residents have obstructed the routes to prevent Israeli occupation forces from entering the region.
The destabilizing actions by the Israeli regime in southern Syria persist. These activities include repeated ground advances in the Daraa and Quneitra provinces, the establishment of checkpoints, and the inspection of civilians, which constitutes a clear violation of the 1974 ceasefire agreement and international law. Yesterday, Israeli army forces targeted the village of ‘Abidin and its surroundings in western Daraa’s countryside with artillery shelling and helicopter machine-gun fire, causing widespread fear and prompting limited displacement of residents to adjacent areas. Concurrently, Israeli fighter jets and helicopters continued their patrol flights over the skies of Daraa and Quneitra countryside.
Simultaneously, news sources reported violent operations and extensive arrests by terrorist groups affiliated with ‘Al-Joulani’ in the village of Al-Mazra’a, located in the Homs countryside. Local sources stated that elements affiliated with Al-Joulani engaged in widespread arrest operations, violent confrontations, and actions against the Shiite residents in Al-Mazra’a village, Homs countryside. Reports claim that during these attacks, insults were also directed towards the sanctity of Imam Hussein (peace be upon him). Meanwhile, news outlets reported that the demolition of Shiite homes in Al-Mazra’a village in Homs has resumed. Activists from the ‘Syrian Observatory for Human Rights’ have reported an escalation of tensions and security disturbances around Al-Mazra’a village in the Homs countryside following the entry of Al-Joulani’s elements into the area and warnings issued to residents to evacuate their homes.
