In a message posted on his social media platform, Truth Social, Trump stated, “Continuing this unilateral path for the United States, especially when there is no reciprocity, is ridiculous. They weren’t there for us in our times of need!”

The message included a graphic illustrating defense spending among NATO members. According to the data, the United States leads with expenditures of $999 billion. Following the U.S. are the United Kingdom with $90.5 billion, France with $66.5 billion, Italy with $48.8 billion, and Poland with $44.3 billion.
