Lebanese Displaced Return South Amid Ongoing Israeli Attacks
According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, as Israeli incursions into southern Lebanon persist, Hanin Al-Sayed, the Lebanese Minister of Social Affairs, stated that a significant portion of the displaced population is returning home. Out of approximately one million individuals who were forced to leave their homes, at least 400,000 have now returned to their residences in southern Lebanon.
Al-Sayed characterized the ceasefire in Lebanon as fragile but acknowledged the ongoing return of displaced persons to the country’s southern areas. She highlighted the strained financial capacity of Lebanon to meet the needs of the displaced and to reconstruct areas affected by the conflict, emphasizing the necessity of international aid.
The minister further noted that a substantial number of displaced individuals are still unable to return to their homes due to extensive destruction in their communities.
It is important to note that despite the de facto ceasefire in Lebanon, the Israeli regime continues its persistent attacks on various parts of the country’s south.
