Hezbollah Slams Netanyahu’s Claims of Christian Support in Southern Lebanon

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Hassan Fadlallah, a Lebanese Member of Parliament, has categorically rejected assertions by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu concerning the alleged inclination of Christian residents in southern Lebanon towards Tel Aviv. The statements were reported by Al-Nahar newspaper, citing Al-Nashra news agency.
Fadlallah expressed appreciation for the stance taken by Nabil Fahmy, Secretary-General of the Arab League, who condemned the “brutal actions of the Israeli enemy in destroying a residential neighborhood in the city of Bint Jbeil.” He contrasted this with what he described as a “questionable silence” from the Lebanese sovereignty, which, through the signing of a “sinister agreement,” has reportedly legitimized the continued presence and aggressive actions of the occupiers in Lebanon, hindering legal recourse against them.
He further stated that the government lacks the courage to respond to Benjamin Netanyahu’s remarks, wherein the Israeli leader claimed that Christian border villages desire annexation to the “occupying regime.” Fadlallah characterized this claim as dubious and indicative of the “objectives they harbor for our country.”
Fadlallah underscored that the inhabitants of these villages, akin to their Muslim counterparts, remain steadfast in their belonging to a homeland that is the ultimate nation for all its children. He affirmed that they are an integral part of the national and social fabric of southern Lebanon. The MP concluded by asserting that the occupiers and their agents will ultimately depart this land and will play no role in the future of Lebanon.
