Russia’s Rosatom Eyes Role in Iran Nuclear Deal, Discusses Bushehr Plant Safety

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Rosatom CEO Alexey Likhachev announced on Monday that the company will reinstate its normal contingent of Russian personnel at the Bushehr nuclear power plant starting mid-month, provided the situation at the facility remains calm. Discussions regarding the circumstances surrounding the Bushehr nuclear power plant are scheduled to take place during upcoming negotiations between Russia and the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) in Kaliningrad. Likhachev suggested that Rosatom is likely to be assigned a specific mission and role in resolving Iran’s nuclear matters.
During an upcoming meeting with IAEA Director General Rafael Grossi, Likhachev stated that Russia will present factual information concerning Kyiv’s attacks on the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant and the city of Enerhodar. The psychological pressure exerted by Kyiv on the personnel of the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant and the residents of Enerhodar will also be raised during the meeting with Grossi.
Furthermore, Alexey Likhachev added that the construction of Hungary’s Paks II nuclear power plant, with Russian participation, is progressing at a rapid pace. Rosatom remains committed to executing the Paks II construction project in accordance with previous agreements with Budapest.
