Qatari Delegation Arrives in Iran for Talks Amid US Diplomatic Efforts

A Qatari negotiating delegation has arrived in Iran to meet with officials, a visit aimed at paving the way for the resumption of Iran-US talks and de-escalation of tensions. This development follows recent emphasis by Qatar on the necessity for parties to adhere to negotiations and regional security.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, information published by the Mehr News Agency, citing Al Jazeera, and reported by Reuters citing an informed source, indicates that a delegation of Qatari negotiators has entered Iran for meetings with the country’s authorities. Reuters reports that the visit is intended to create the conditions for resuming negotiations between Iran and the United States, as well as to reduce tensions between the two nations.

A knowledgeable diplomat stated that the Qatari negotiators are in Iran in coordination with the United States to hold discussions with Iranian officials. This action is being undertaken with the objective of de-escalating tensions and establishing an environment conducive to the restart of negotiations.

This news emerges as Qatar’s Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, in a phone call with the Foreign Minister of Egypt, emphasized the importance of all parties committing to negotiations. Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, during his conversation with Badr Abdelatty, also highlighted the necessity of implementing the terms of the memorandum of understanding between Washington and Tehran and ensuring freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz to maintain regional security.

The Prime Minister of Qatar reiterated his country’s support for efforts aimed at de-escalating tensions and achieving a comprehensive agreement.
