US and Iran Negotiators Reportedly Set to Resume Talks in Oman

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, based on data published by the Mehr News Agency and citing Al Jazeera, ABC News reported that U.S. and Iranian negotiating teams are set to resume discussions in Oman on Saturday. An American official claimed that Iran initiated contact to continue dialogue and seek resolutions to certain issues.
This assertion comes shortly after Ismail Bakhai, spokesperson for Iran’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, denied any Iranian request for negotiations with the United States. The American official further alleged that President Trump has dispatched teams for negotiations, but warned of a response should Iran undertake further hostile actions.
Conversely, CNN, quoting an American official, reported that Washington will not engage in nuclear negotiations if Iran restricts the free passage of oil tankers through the Strait of Hormuz. Several other U.S. officials informed The Wall Street Journal that the Trump administration believes the prospects for reaching a nuclear agreement with Iran are diminishing.
