Most Ships Used Iran-Designated Route in Strait of Hormuz, Kepler Data Shows

Analysis of ship tracking data from Kepler reveals that 9 out of 11 vessels passed through the Strait of Hormuz via the route designated by Iran, amidst concerns over U.S. actions in the Persian Gulf.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, ship tracking data published by Al Jazeera, citing Kepler, indicates that yesterday, 9 out of 11 vessels utilized the specific route established by Iran in the Strait of Hormuz. This navigation occurred against a backdrop of alleged U.S. transgressions against Iran in the Persian Gulf region, which have reportedly disrupted maritime traffic in the Strait of Hormuz.

The Islamic Republic of Iran has consistently asserted its authority over the management of the Strait, emphasizing that all vessels must adhere to the secure passage pathways it defines. Tehran has also warned that ships deviating to alternative routes, potentially paving the way for U.S. military intervention in the region, will bear responsibility for the repercussions.
