Russia-China Trade Primarily Conducted in National Currencies, Says Lavrov

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov announced that nearly all trade exchanges between Russia and China are now conducted in their respective national currencies, underscoring the strength of bilateral ties.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov stated in an article for the Kommersant newspaper, coinciding with the 25th anniversary of the Treaty on Good-Neighborliness, Friendship and Cooperation between Russia and China, that both nations deem double standards and unilateral sanctions unacceptable.

Lavrov further elaborated that the cooperation between Russia and China serves as a model for establishing relations based on principles of equality. He highlighted that the vast majority of trade transactions between the two countries are now carried out using their national currencies. The principles outlined in the Good-Neighborliness, Friendship and Cooperation Treaty continue to retain their significance and validity in contemporary realities.

The Russian Foreign Minister also added that Russia and China have significantly enhanced their foreign policy coordination over the past 25 years.
