Qatar’s Foreign Minister Discusses Regional De-escalation with Jordanian, Omani, and Saudi Counterparts

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Qatar‘s Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that its Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, held separate phone conversations with the Foreign Ministers of Jordan, Oman, and Saudi Arabia. The discussions focused on the latest regional developments and pathways to reduce tensions, as reported by Al Jazeera, citing information from the Mehr News Agency.

During the call with the Jordanian Foreign Minister, emphasis was placed on the necessity for all parties to adhere to dialogue and implement existing agreements, according to a statement from the Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The Qatari Foreign Ministry also stated that the nation’s Prime Minister and Foreign Minister consulted with the Omani Foreign Minister regarding efforts to de-escalate tensions and enhance regional security. They underscored the importance of ensuring freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz and respecting the sovereignty of the Sultanate of Oman.

In a phone call with the Saudi Arabian Foreign Minister, joint coordination for reducing regional tensions was a key topic of discussion. The Qatari Foreign Minister reiterated the importance of parties committing to diplomatic channels and guaranteeing freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Qatar concluded by stating that the country continues to support all regional and international efforts aimed at containing tensions, preventing escalation of crises, and achieving a comprehensive agreement.
