Qatar Emphasizes Support for Diplomacy Between Tehran and Washington

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Qatar‘s Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, reviewed the latest regional developments and avenues for de-escalation in separate phone calls with officials from Saudi Arabia, Oman, the United Arab Emirates, and Turkey. The discussions, as reported by Al Jazeera and published by Mehr News Agency, focused on coordinating efforts to promote regional calm and enhance security and stability.

During conversations with Oman’s Foreign Minister Bader Albusaidi and UAE Foreign Minister Abdullah bin Zayed, Sheikh Al Thani stressed the importance of mutual coordination to support a process of relaxation and strengthen regional security and stability, alongside discussions on bilateral relations. He underscored the necessity for all parties to adhere to dialogue and diplomacy and to implement the terms of the understanding between Iran and the United States, an agreement that also emphasizes regional security and freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz.

In his calls with Saudi Foreign Minister Faisal bin Farhan and Abu Dhabi Deputy Ruler Tahnoun bin Zayed, Sheikh Al Thani highlighted the imperative to reduce tensions and advance regional coordination to prevent the escalation of crises. Qatar, which played a mediating role alongside Pakistan in facilitating the understanding between Tehran and Washington in June, reaffirmed its support for all initiatives aimed at managing tensions and achieving a comprehensive agreement for lasting regional stability.
