North Korea: Nuclear Deterrence Essential Against External Threats, Official States

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, North Korea is relentlessly upgrading its nuclear arsenal, with a senior official emphasizing its crucial role in safeguarding the nation’s sovereignty and security. Kim Yo Jong, sister of the North Korean leader and head of the General Department of the Central Committee of the Workers’ Party of Korea, stated that the country’s nuclear capabilities are being updated continuously without pause.
She further elaborated that nuclear power serves as the main guarantee for supporting the country’s sovereignty and its security. Kim Yo Jong asserted that Pyongyang’s position is clear and unwavering, and that the prevailing security conditions in the region have prompted the nation to bolster its defensive capabilities.
Nuclear deterrence has thus become an important and indispensable element in confronting external threats. Previously, the leader of North Korea had repeatedly announced that the country’s nuclear capabilities are essential for countering foreign aggression.
