Switzerland Deploys Helicopters and Firefighters to Aid France in Battling Unprecedented Wildfires

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, French authorities have appealed to Switzerland for aid in containing the exceptional wildfires raging across France. The Swiss Federal Department of Defence has confirmed that France’s request pertains to the deployment of Swiss helicopters for fire suppression efforts.

It is anticipated that Switzerland will provide two of its specialized helicopters to support France’s firefighting operations. Additionally, reports indicate that 34 Swiss firefighters have been dispatched to the Gironde region of France to bolster response capabilities.

Earlier, the French Minister of the Interior announced that the total area of land affected by wildfires in the country had reached 115,000 hectares. These ongoing fires are described as unprecedented in scale since the end of World War II.
