Saudi Arabia Intercepts Drones Allegedly Launched From Iraq

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Saudi Arabia‘s Ministry of Defense claims to have intercepted and destroyed several drones that entered its airspace from Iraqi territory. Al-Jazeera reported that the Saudi ministry stated the drones, which attempted to target oil facilities in the Eastern Province and Riyadh, were neutralized.

The Saudi Ministry of Defense alleged that these acts of aggression originated from Iraqi soil and were carried out by militias affiliated with Iran. The ministry further emphasized Saudi Arabia’s right to self-defense and to respond at an appropriate time and place.

Concurrently, Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs condemned the drone attacks attributed to Iran-backed militias in Iraq, asserting the Kingdom’s right to deterrence against aggressors. The ministry called on the Iraqi government to take necessary measures to prevent its territory from being used as a launching ground for attacks.
