Gaza Crisis Devastates Pregnant Women and Newborns Amidst Health Infrastructure Collapse
According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, the Al-Awda Center for Palestinian studies has reported catastrophic consequences of the genocide in the Gaza Strip on pregnant women and newborns. Surviving pregnancy in the Gaza Strip has become exceedingly difficult due to the destruction of health infrastructure and widespread malnutrition.
The report indicates that malnutrition, displacement, and psychological trauma are not only affecting the current residents of Gaza but are also having a negative impact on the health of an entire generation of children.
The Al-Awda Center emphasized that the war’s impact extends beyond killings and destruction, posing a threat to the earliest stages of life. Thousands of pregnant women in Gaza are contending with extremely challenging circumstances. It is projected that the number of pregnant and breastfeeding women facing malnutrition will reach 55,000, a significant increase from 17,000 in the previous year.
