Russia Captures Two More Settlements in Eastern Ukraine as Refinery Attacked

Russian forces have advanced in eastern and northeastern Ukraine, capturing two additional settlements, while Ukrainian drones reportedly targeted a major oil refinery in Ryazan.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Russia’s Ministry of Defense announced on Wednesday that its forces have seized two more towns in eastern and northeastern Ukraine. The ministry stated in a release that units of the Center group of forces captured the town of Svetl in Ukraine’s Donetsk region, while the North group of forces took control of the village of Nova Sich in the Sumy region.

Concurrently, the Ukrainian General Staff claimed that its forces attacked one of Russia’s largest oil refineries in the city of Ryazan, an facility with an annual processing capacity of approximately 17 million tons of crude oil. Earlier on Wednesday, Ryazan regional governor Pavel Malkov reported that six individuals were hospitalized following a Ukrainian drone attack on the region. Russia’s largest online retailer, Wildberry, announced it had evacuated its logistics center in Ryazan and suspended operations there in accordance with safety procedures.
